Who are we?

ElegantHorsePictures.com is owned and operated by RCP Inc.

The president is me, Patrick M Mooney, and that's my picture up there! But please don't let it prevent you from checking out our impressive inventory of art prints.

I'm a horse lover and former groom at Fairmount Park in Collinsville, IL.

Elegant Horse Pictures may not be the fanciest or slickest looking website, but it is a Verizon site and Verizon sites are very efficient, as well as ultra-secure.

The one thing that you'll get from us that you won't with other sites is communication. We offer sixteen hours of knowledgeable customer service - seven days a week.

If anyone wants to call me with questions or orders (or questions about orders), I'll be more than happy to talk to them. I can be reached at 1-314-766-8050 (CUSTOMERS ONLY PLEASE!) You can call me anytime from 8 am to midnight (Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays too).

Please do not call us with questions about appraising art that you currently own. It is impossible to do by phone, and it may prevent us from properly serving our customers.

90% percent of the time I'll answer the phone myself.

Your order will be shipped via US Postal Ground Service from the manufacturer’s warehouse within two to three business days. (More information below, in the FAQ). We are required to charge sales tax on all orders shipped to addresses in Illinois (6.6%) and Massachusetts (5%), US only. No tax will be charged on orders shipped outside the state of Illinois or Massachusetts, US.

FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions)

What about shipping costs?

There is FREE US Postal Ground shipping on ALL continental US orders.

In Canada, there is free shipping for items totaling over $170. Under $170, the charge is $19 (USD).

Outside the US and Canada, there is free shipping for items totaling over $250. Under $250, the shipping cost is $31 (USD) per order.

We had to suspend our shipments to EU nations because of rules that are very difficult for us to understand and adhere to. We understand that these rules are a work in progress and one day we hope to resume shipping orders to EU nations.

If you prefer a different form of delivery, we also offer 3 Day Select shipping for $11.50 (this is for USA only).

Packages addressed to Alaska, Hawaii, and Puerto Rico are shipped via US Postal Service Priority Mail (free).

Shipments to The Virgin Islands and Guam are treated as international shipments.

How are the items shipped?

All prints priced under $200 will ship in a sturdy tube. All prints priced over $200 will ship flat for paper prints. Most canvas prints are shipped unstretched, or rolled up in a tube. All shipments are guaranteed.

Some customers have misgivings about their prints being rolled up, but rest assured, once out of the tube, they are fine (we have virtually no complaints!).

Can I order over the phone?

Sure! Call us toll-free at 1-314-766-8050 (7 days a week-evenings too!) and we will be happy to take your order.

This is not an answering service, you'll talk to real employees of ElegantHorsePictures.com.

Or if you prefer, you can send us your name and address (email too) along with a note detailing the item(s) that you want to order to:

RCP Inc.
300 Pine Lake
Suite 10
Collinsville, IL 62234

VISA, MasterCard, Discover, American Express, and Paypal is accepted.

If you prefer not to pay by credit card, make check payable to "RCP Inc.".

Money orders are preferred. There will be a delay for personal checks.

When should I expect delivery?

It depends on the print(s) that are ordered.

Many of the prints are carried in-house and are shipped out the day that they are ordered (if ordered during the day). You can expect to receive those in 2-3 business days.

Other prints, not carried in-house, are drop shipped directly from the publisher and make take slightly longer.

I like the print, but do you have a different size?

It's best to check the dropdown menu. If there are other sizes available, you will be able to see them in the dropdown menu.

I love this print but I hate that ugly logo on it! Can you do something about that?

Many prints on this site display a watermark, copyright, or logo from the publisher which is used to prevent unauthorized copying. This will NOT be on the prints that we send to you.

Can I have permission to use an image that is displayed on this site?

Permission must be obtained from the artist. If you don't know how to contact an artist, we recommend that you enter their name into one of the popular search engines such as Google.

How will the charge look like on my credit card statement?

The charge on your credit card statement will say "www.ElegantHorsePictures.com"

How about framing?

First of all, we do not shipped framed prints outside of the USA due to the inability to determine varying shipping costs and different rules that each country has. We will ship unframed prints that can fit inside a tube outside the USA.

The shipping charges for framed items often exceed the cost of the frames themselves. Quite often customers complain of receiving damaged items. As of now, we are exploring ways where we can offer framing options in a cost-effective way. We currently offer a limited number of framed pieces. They are usually smaller. The frame that you will get is usually displayed on the image.

How safe is my credit card information?

When you buy from ElegantHorsePictures.com your credit card purchase is processed in real time through Merchant Direct and secure eCommerce servers run by Yahoo.com. Then your order is encrypted with PGP before being sent to ElegantHorsePictures.com. Your card couldn’t be safer! By the way, the popular browsers such as Google Chrome will tell you if a website is secure. Simply look up at the top left (next to the https://) and make sure that it says "SECURE". Other browsers will show a small padlock icon.

The only way we improve our business is from the feedback we receive from customers, so tell us what you like and what you don't like about us, we value your opinion!

What is your return policy?

If you are unhappy for any reason with your items, please contact us first (at info@eleganthorsepictures.com) and we will make refund and shipping arrangements. We ask that you do this within 60 days of your purchase, It must be returned in a resalable condition. We charge a 10% restocking fee for returned items.

What is a limited edition print?

Limited editions are just that, limited in number giving the print more value. They are usually signed and numbered. Edition sizes generally range between 500-1000, depending upon the artists wishes. After the editions are sold, no more are ever reproduced.

What is an artist proof?

Artists proofs are higher in price than limited editions, although there is no physical difference between the two. Artist Proofs are the artist's personal prints that are given to him as part of the printing - usually 10% of the edition. Artist proofs are numbered differently. If you are not a collector, you would want to save the extra cost and go with the limited edition print. Artist proofs are more valuable if the number is lower. Collecting art prints is a lot like collecting coins or stamps. On face value they are the same but subtle differences like numbering can make a big difference in worth.

What is a canvas transfer?

Canvas transfers are made by taking an existing paper print and putting it into a special solution that soaks away the paper. A film of ink is applied that is left to a specially prepared, stretched canvas. These look very much like an original when you put them in a frame. They are great looking and very durable.

What are the advantages of a canvas transfer?

They provide a classy presentation with the look of an original painting, without the expense of an original.

Many people prefer the look of the canvas to a print which is matted, framed and covered with glass.

Framing options include nice frames and liners and eliminate the need for mats and glass, enhancing the look of the art even further and eliminating glare on the glass.

Canvas transfers are coated with a protective UV coating which prevents fading, even when hung in direct sunlight.

A canvas is easy to care for: Dusting with a damp cloth is all that is necessary to keep them looking great!

A canvas is sturdy and not effected by changes in humidity.

If shipping is necessary, the canvas is lightweight and inexpensive to ship.

What is a giclée?

In brief, it is a high-resolution process that is growing in popularity in the art world. The colors are much sharper than with traditional reproductions.

With the advent of giclée (zhee-clay, French for "a spray of ink") the art of fine art printing has become even more precise. Because no screens are used, the prints have a higher apparent resolution than lithographs. In the giclée process, a fine stream of ink-- more than four million droplets per second—is sprayed onto archival art paper or canvas. The effect is similar to an air brush technique but much finer. Each piece is carefully hand mounted onto a drum which rotates during printing. Exact calculations of hue, value and density direct the ink of four nozzles. This produces a combination of 512 chromatic changes (with over 3 million colors possible) of highly saturated, nontoxic water-based ink. The artist’s color approval and input are essential for creating the final custom settings for the edition.

I'm an artist, can I get my art placed on ElegantHorsePictures.com?

These days we are being much more selective when choosing our artists. As long as your works fit our horse and Western theme, we'll be happy to look at it. Just email us at info@eleganthorsepictures.com
