Award winning artist Lee Ellen Smith earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree from Parsons School of Design in New York City. She has been working as a professional artist for over 20 years. Her passion for animals has taken her career in the direction of realistically portrayed specimens for museums, zoos, commercial venues, and private collections. Her amazing ability to capture the individuality of each animal has become the trademark of her work.

An accomplished horsewoman, she was hooked on Thoroughbreds at the age of 9, and currently owns two which are her pride and joy.
