Kerry Kinman Southwestern Art Prints
When Kerry Kinman first met his wife Linda Lee in Eugene, Oregon in 1972, she was a waitress and he was a chemical salesman. Kerry later went to work for Linda's father as a local well driller. After getting married and having six children, the couple became artists almost by accident. In 1980, Kerry was laid off from his job. His mother, successful artist Florence Sackett, had suggested something in art. So, while he was laid off, his mother went through a painting with him. After traveling from gallery to gallery in his van, a gallery in Seattle took some of his work on consignment. In two weeks he had received his first check from the gallery and had begun to figure out the gallery business. Kerry paints entirely with painting knives using no brushes. He strives to obtain as much detail as possible with the least amount of paint, which results in crisp, clear, sunlit desert landscapes. He and Linda, who is also an artist, live in the foothills of the Cascades in central Oregon. Each spring they spend six to eight weeks exploring Arizona and California deserts in search of wildflowers, their favorite subject.
